A little about me.....I'm Claire, I have lived local most of my life, but travelled to many countries and always wondered how the local street dogs survive with their natural group dynamics.
I had always wanted to work with animals (especially dogs) but really didn't know it was a 'career' option in my 20s or 30s, I had spent my working life in a legal background. I decided to take the plunge a few years ago and started to look at the possibilities out there....I loved the idea of doggy day care - our current canine would not have coped with that, then thought I would love it if I could spend my day out with dogs, so walking became an option - I wasn't happy with just walking happy waggy dogs and noticed that there were other viable avenues to consider.
As a family, we had experienced a fear aggressive dog at home and noted that there was not much on offer in the way of help. I had also had extensive experience with dogs that suffered with separation anxiety, frustration, health issues and most of all, resource guarding and aggression.
I found myself taking on the dogs that group walkers didn't want - dogs with issues - particularly aggression issues towards other dogs. After spending the last couple of years turning my experience and knowledge into qualifications, I can now say that I specialise in dogs with aggression problems, often with a bite history, and of working types in particular.
