About me

A little about me.....I'm Claire, I have lived local most of my life, but travelled to many countries and always wondered how the local street dogs survive with their natural group dynamics.

I had always wanted to work with animals (especially dogs) but really didn't know it was a 'career' option in my 20s or 30s, I had spent my working life in a legal background.  I decided to take the plunge a few years ago and started to look at the possibilities out there....I loved the idea of doggy day care - our current canine would not have coped with that, then thought I would love it if I could spend my day out with dogs, so walking became an option - I wasn't happy with just walking happy waggy dogs and noticed that there were other viable avenues to consider.

As a family, we had experienced a fear aggressive dog at home and noted that there was not much on offer in the way of help.  I had also had extensive experience with dogs that suffered with separation anxiety, frustration, health issues and most of all, resource guarding and aggression.

I found myself taking on the dogs that group walkers didn't want - dogs with issues - particularly aggression issues towards other dogs.  After spending the last couple of years turning my experience and knowledge into qualifications, I can now say that I specialise in dogs with aggression problems, often with a bite history, and of working types in particular.

A personalised service tailored to you and your dog's needs

The process.....

How I work with you - we will have a brief discussion and talk about what it is you are having problems with to get the best possible outcome for your pooch.  Depending on the issues presented, I get you booked into the diary for a 121 assessment and a behaviour form will be sent to you for completion.  The assessment is done in the dogs own home environment so we can then discuss your canine companion in detail, this will take anywhere between 1 and 2 and a half hours.  From here a full report will be drawn up and sent to you along with any information sheets that are necessary to help you move forward.  A follow up meeting is then arranged for approximately 2 to 4 weeks after the report has been sent.

I tailor what we do depending on the age, size, sex of your pup/dog and what the issues are. I never settle for second best and don't believe your pet should either - I would want nothing less than satisfaction and feel that my client (canine and guardian) is the top priority. It’s who I am and I'm proud of it.

Who I Am as a business

As a small business, it is easier for me to provide what you need, I love what we do and it shows. There is nothing better than being out and about with your pooch but for some it is often a struggle, often feeling embarrassed and afraid to take him or her out, walks become a dreaded chore and the ability to enjoy that time together is nothing but wishful thinking.

I have had the pleasure of a couple of dogs with behaviour problems during my home life of varying sizes and my resident furbabies have taught us a lot about the differing personalities of different dogs.
Offering experience, knowledge and qualifications in relation to dogs displaying aggression, resource guarding and fear/anxiety means that it is not just learnt knowledge I offer but practical knowledge as well.

My thoughts

Every dog and family is unique!
We are afterall, individuals - our dogs are the same.  That’s why I customise what I do for you to fit yours and your dogs needs exactly.

Whether it’s a small dog or large, young or old, energetic or prefers a snooze on the sofa, if you are finding your dog's behaviour difficult to manage or are embarrassed by it, I’ll sit down with you, listen to your requirements and concerns and prepare a customised service with support.

None of our dogs have asked to be born, or have asked to be bought or rehomed and deserve a happy life.  Let's get this basic requirement in place for your canine so that a happy calm home life is provided for both you and your dog.
